On Adventure
What is Life Adventure?
Deep down most of us want to change, to experience, to create, and to give more than we do today; To make more of our talents, dreams, and relationships.
In The Companion we define Adventure as follows:
“The conscious definition and pursuit of goals which are truly meaningful to us, including taking positive steps to address the obstacles on our path”.
What is the purpose of The Adventurer’s Companion?
The Adventurer’s Companion is intended as a resource and forum for personal life adventure.
None of us are perfect adventurers – and we can all use a good travelling companion on our journey. Don Quixote had his Sancho Panza, and when the game was afoot, Sherlock Holmes had his Watson.
For most of us, personal life adventure is analogous to being given a chess set and just told to get on with it. We don’t get the advice or the tools we need to play – and we do not always learn from experience.
The aim of The Companion is simple.
To help you to clarify the things in life that matter most to you and help you spend more time doing, experiencing, and achieving. And above all – to help you understand and remove the blocks that prevent you from persisting and moving towards your goals.
Life is an imperfect artform rather than a science – with infinite possibilities for experience, learning, and change.
The Companion remains, therefore, a “work in progress”, just like all of us.
Movement is the goal for Adventurers – not perfection!
